Blood & Magic Book Review

4/5 Stars - An enjoyable vampire read.

Blood & Magic Eternal is one of the few vampire books I've ever read. And it was pretty darn good! Blood & Magic Eternal is a gothic fantasy with dystopian elements and two main characters. The first is Charlotte, a sharp survivor of a heroine, and the second is Malachi a morally gray vampire prince. The plot centers around The Hunt (yup, that's vampires hunting humans for sport), which is so cool (it's kinda like gothic vampire Hunger Games).

***Very mild spoilers below***

That being said, I wish we got to see a bit more of the Hunt. Though the bulk of the book builds up to the Hunt, you don't actually get into it until toward the end. But don't worry, what we get to see is nice and bloody.

It's clear that Blood & Magic Eternal is building to something (both between humans and noctis and between Charlotte and Malachi. Based on the ending of Blood & Magic Eternal, I imagine book two will pick up where book one left off. There's a lot left to explore, and I'm certainly interested to do so.

I would like to note that there is a considerable amount of strong language in Blood & Magic Eternal (which I personally am not a fan of), but it was easy enough to look past and did not hinder my enjoyment of the book.
